Colossians 1:18-20, Embrace Christ's Supremacy:
There is an abundance of treasure in Colossians 1:18-20 that, once again, touches upon everything in the universe including you and I. Christ being the head of the Church, His resurrection, His ascensions (yes, plural), and His merciful provision of moral and cosmic reconciliation are just a few of things we look into as well as the actual structure of verse 20.
Additionally, by the grace of God, based on the context we bring out the meaning of the term "the beginning" found in verse 18 which is the same sense for the same term in Revelation 3:14 where Christ calls Himself "the beginning of the creation of God."

In this podcast we look at Colossians 1:15 in three sections: the invisible God (starting around 2:36, or 0:30 for the preceding verses), Christ the image of the invisible God (11:50), and Christ the firstborn of all creation (22:56). For that last section, by the grace of God we show, based upon the context of Colossians 1 as well as other portions of the Word of God, that He was not a created being.

As we venture further into the first chapter of the Epistle To The Colossians we enter into a section that touches upon the Godhead (Trinity), the nature and work of Christ, and much more. In this particular podcast we look at three verses of that section, Colossians 1:12-14, and see how the Apostle Paul, as directed by the Holy Spirit, begins to bring out truths that dismantles the Colossian heresy.
In preparation for the next podcast, if you have the apps to do the follow, please run a search in the New Testament on a Greek word for image, eikon (i-kone), using Strong's number 1504. Also, run a search in the Old Testament with "firstborn" (Hebrew Strong's number not needed) and read those verses.
