It has to be done soon and hopefully it will have been done just after publishing this GemLight. If it does not get done, trouble will set in, pain will become my acquaintance, and it will cost more to fix it.
Though I have been trying to be careful, about two weeks ago my dentist discovered one of my teeth had a cavity. Now, you know what needs to be done. It needs to be filled, otherwise it will grow, inviting pain and destruction of the tooth.
Worse than cavities in teeth are spiritual cavities. Like the teeth cavities, they begin as small holes, inviting trouble. Trouble comes, and the cavity enlarges.
Those small spiritual holes include the times we tell those “little fibs,” compromise our stance, or permitting things around us that Christ Himself would not have around.
Satan convinces us they are just tiny things--we can handle those. Well, not really. Before we know it, those tiny things grow a little bigger and we soon find ourselves wanting more of what Christ would not want.
This happens to all people. It happened to the Jews in Isaiah’s time (Isaiah 42:22): “ But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.”
Because Messiah has come and destroyed both our sins and sin nature upon the cross, He most definitely is the One to say, “Restore!” However, He does so only if we permit Him to. This requires our surrender to Him, trusting Him fully to correct and heal us.
If we let Him, He cleans our spiritual cavities and fills them with His resurrected life. We must let Him do this daily, even moment by moment.
The world has enough pain to give us without us adding to it by sinning. The best thing we can ever do is to have Christ within us, mercifully ruling us in love, and for us to cooperate with Him.
If you have not fully surrendered to Christ, please take this opportunity to do so, fully trusting Him to direct your life, meet your needs, and fill every bit of you with His precious goodness.
Forget the holey desires. Desire holiness.

"O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors and lay thy foundations with sapphires. And I will make thy windows of agates and thy gates of rubies, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD, and great shall be the peace of thy children." --- Isaiah 54:11-13
