Most people are faithful to follow their doctor's orders when it comes to taking medication. There is nothing wrong with that, but some folks are so strict that, if they are taking, let's say, medication Z twice a day, and the doctor says 12 hours apart, they keenly observe their watch to make sure that if they took their morning pill at 7:33 a.m., that they will take the evening pill precisely at 7:33 p.m.--not a minute before nor after.
I've seen people disturb church just to take that pill at the right time. In most cases, they can select times to take their pill or pills so as not to taint a service. At the very least, they can try to take their medicine without drawing attention to themselves.
If one thinks they have to take a pill at a precise time, they will prepare for that moment and have nothing stop them when it comes time to take the medication. And, whatever the doctor says, they will definitely do it, no matter what. After all, the doctor said.
However, some of these very same people, when God tells them to do something, might take their sweet time doing it, if they do it all.
Well, it's just human nature to be concerned more about the material, physical realm than the spiritual, unseen realm. Yet, it is the unseen spiritual realm that really matters. In fact, if you study the Word of God, being spiritually healthy will often help us to be physically healthy.
To keep us spiritually healthy, God gives us some prescriptions, either by direct command or by the example of a godly life. Here are a few.
Psalm 61:8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
Psalm 86:3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
Psalm 88:9 "...LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee."
Proverbs 8:34 Blessed is the man that heareth me [wisdom], watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
Lule 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Daniel 6:10 "...Daniel ...kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime."
Psalm 119:164 Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
Imagine what would happen if we would faithfully do these things, just as we faithfully take medicine.

"O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors and lay thy foundations with sapphires. And I will make thy windows of agates and thy gates of rubies, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD, and great shall be the peace of thy children." --- Isaiah 54:11-13
